  2. Bleed brakes with engine running?

About to put new fluid in my 380 and a few questions came to mind. Hopefully I can get answers to the tricky ones. Firstly, MMAL manual for 380 reads "start the engine and bleed". Should one really have engine running while bleeding the brakes? I have never done swop of fluid nor bleeding with...

  3. Accessory Socket under headunit not working/Fuse location

Hi guys, So I have a new issue, which I'm hoping is pretty simple. Basically the accessory socket which is located under the headunit has decided to not work anymore. When a device(car dvr) is plugged into the socket the power led indicator will come on for a sec, then instantly shuts off...

  5. Accessorie socket on 380 vrx

Hi, I am going to wire up my dash cam to a spare socket behind the glove box and hide the wires up to the screen, i did the same on my previous car, I want to piggy back the wires from the existing socket via a fused link, however there is no power to my front power socket, can anyone tell me if...

  7. Low pick up and excess fuel consumption

Hi Guys, I am the proud owner of a 2008 series 3 Mitsubishi 380 GT. What makes it even special is that the kind soul that I bought it from has installed an aftermarket Sprint LPG system, (its not the Factory Fitted Impco though) However I felt that the car sometimes struggles for pick up and...

  8. Weird starting issue

2005 (series 1) GT. Sometimes car won't start (motor turns over well, but sounds like no spark/no fuel). Happens mostly when car has not been used for a few days, but has also occurred after 60km run on motorway and I went to start her a few minutes after turning motor off. Cranking the motor...

  9. Mits-Fix 380 Timing Belt Service feedback (Update)

(edited to a less aggressive manner to within forum guidelines as my original posts were deleted yesterday. Apparently my honest opinion wasn't wanted on AMC)Ever since I moved to Australia from the U.S. a few year back. I have only dealt with a few dealerships. Penfold Richmond (closed down)...

  10. Rear Seat Covers

After some solid useage by passengers my rear seat might look better with a nice cover on it. Where is a good supplier of custom-made rear seat covers for the 380s?

  11. TMR used purchase, help please

I've stumbled across a TMR 380 for sale here in WA, and I'm jumping on it! But I don't know much about the supercharger and brakes maintenance on them. The listing mentions timing belts needs doing (easy fix) but the car has 110,000kms so how good is the supercharger life on these? Can...

  12. Rocker cover gasket and sump replacement

Hi gents, My brother and I are aspiring e-mechanics. He is driving my old 380 and we've found to be a decent oil leak happening around the valve cover/rocker cover, so we thought it would be a good lesson to change them ourselves. I've found the gaskets on mitsfix, but I haven't found a DIY...

  13. Remove rear bumper insert & Restore B-pillar black strips

Hey all, 2 things I'm trying to sort out. The first is restoring the black part of the B-pillars. It's starting to fade and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. It looks as though it's just paint so thought a cut n polish would restore the shine but I don't want to try in case I'm wrong....

  14. Best Engine Oil?

I couldnt find an engine oil thread here, which is astounding! At least searching for "oil" in thread title turned up nothing! Anyhow, what do people recommend for oil in the 380? I assume full synthetic is the way to go but what grade? Asking for the drivers experience, not guesses, what have...

  16. LPG only switches over after a long time.

Lately, in the colder weather (but not crazy cold, 12c ?) I've noticed that my 380 does not switch over to LPG until maybe 20 minutes into a trip? I know it's meant to switch once a given temp is reached. But the temp gauge climbs normally and the climate control turns the heater on full blast,...

  18. Random misfire only on petrol.

A relative's 380. Bought at my recommendation. There are now 3 380's in the family :) When started on petrol, idle feels lumpy, throws CEL. My OBD iPhone doodad reports random cylinder misfire. Once warm and flipped to LPG it's smooth as, CEL eventually goes out. Happens on every cold start. I...

  19. 20" rims on a 380 - Tyre guy says no.

Hi all. I'll start by saying, I apologise for another tyre/rim post, however I figured the nice guys n gals at the AMC will be able to help (the advice you all gave for my recent exhaust upgrade was brilliant). My question is this, is there any issues with putting 20" wheels on our beloved 380 or...

  20. Catalytic converter dead - aftermarket replacement?

Hi everyone. I've had my car in for throwing a CEL nearly every long trip (few hours plus), nothing around town but does not clear itself. The code was running too lean and the mitsubishi dealer replaced the O2 sensors (secondary I think). Anyway it now throws a CEL faster than ever and the...
